This is a very basic music theory book for someone who is taking a music class or beginning a degree in music. For me, I'm an experienced musician, and I know more than 3/4ths of the items in this book, so I thought that most things were unneeded, like I already knew what a whole note or a staff looks like. I suppose it's what class you get yourself into that matters more than the book, though, which is why I can't rate this so harshly. It's not a bad book in a world full of text books trying to explain the same topic.
